A Rally that Zoomed by
While everyone is posting and giving Kevin great
reviews, I have some complaints. Kevin, you don't get off the hook that easily, nuh uh.
First, we only had great weather
85% of the time while we were out there. You need to get better weather controls the next time you Wagonmaster.
Second,
the park security was atrocious. It took the Drunk Squad several nights and heroic attempts to get their attention to get
"shut down," the signature results of our hard partying. Thank God that one of our own, Hybrid Holly, had enough sense to
do it herself for the park didn't do it. The only thing that got their attention was the cocaphony of women, children and
the very inebriated Pete & Nick doing Karaoke.
Third, alcohol consumption seems to be on the rise. (Uh sorry,
that's not an issue.)
Third, I think the card games those SoCal people were playing were rigged. It even drove
TOS to swear you'd think he was having war flashbacks. Sh*t, the place is crawling with children.
BTW, in case you
didn't notice, I have a big road burn on my face because I crashed on my bike in the park. Now, you need to warn people that
the pavement is a bit coarse out there! If I had known that, I would have refrained from using my face to break the fall.
Other
than that, it was a great time and a wonderful experience. A mega-rally with a mini-rally feel. You can't get any better than
that. It's always nice to get reacquainted with the SCCampers (pronounced "scampers" according to Randy Flinders) folks,
especially when you let us eat your food, drink your coffee, burn your firewood and allow us to play pranks on you, and you
do it always with a smile. Dee, thanks for being a good sport! And Lori, thanks for making those frequent visits and we owe
you a Blue Fin next time you go "tamping" with us.
And a nice showing by the NNC contingent, some traveling from as
far as Redding, Ukiah and Sacramento. Whew, those are major miles. It's always nice to to get together again with so many
folks that have become good friends.
And Kevin, despite those issues I mentioned above and you slacking off on those,
thank you so much for all your efforts that paid off with such high dividends. It was so much fun that the weekend basically
ZOOMED by!
